Tu - Lunar New Year Merch Collection

The Tụ - Tết Merch Collection draws inspiration from the spirit of Vietnamese gatherings, community,
and joy that come alive during Tết, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year. Named "Tụ" — symbolizing
reunion, gathering, and celebration — this collection captures the essence of Tết, where family and
friends come together to honor traditions and share in festive joy. Drawing from symbols of
Vietnamese culture like the shrimp, dragonfly, and crab, each design element reflects the prosperity,
renewal, and adaptability that define the Vietnamese New Year and resonate with the natural and
cultural cycles of the seasons. This collection aims to offer meaningful, vibrant merchandise that not
only celebrates the customs of Tết but also brings a modern touch to the heritage symbols that unify
Vietnamese communities worldwide.

LOGO

This logo, inspired by chữ thư pháp (Vietnamese calligraphy), beautifully captures the elegance and cultural depth of traditional Vietnamese script. Chữ
thư pháp is commonly used during Tết, the Lunar New Year, where calligraphic art often decorates homes, symbolizing wishes for prosperity, luck, and
happiness in the coming year. The flowing, brush-like strokes evoke the artistry of hand-painted calligraphy, which is highly valued in Vietnamese culture
for its connection to mindfulness and reverence for heritage.

MOODBOARD

The core concept emerged from two key ideas: "Tết" and "Vibrancy." Drawing inspiration from the lively spirit of Vietnamese Lunar New Year,
I explored unconventional yet festive colors, including purple, teal, yellow, orange, and light blue. These hues, paired with imagery of
blooming flowers, traditional Đông Hồ motifs, and festive lanterns, brought a fresh and modern twist to Tết’s visual narrative.

ELEMENTS

The tagline of the collection, "Xuân, Hạ, Thu, Đông rồi lại Xuân" (Spring,
Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring again), symbolizes the cyclical nature of
time and the beauty of life’s continuity. Each design element in the collection
incorporates animals, flowers, and cultural symbols from all four seasons,
celebrating the unique essence of each. By weaving together imagery from the
entire year, the collection reflects the passage of time and the moments that
shape us, while the return to Spring represents renewal and hope.
Highlighting all four seasons underscores the idea of looking back on the past
year as the Lunar New Year begins, fostering a sense of gratitude for what has
been and excitement for what’s to come. This approach not only honors
tradition but also inspires a thoughtful perspective on the year ahead.

Hôp Mut Tet - Sweet Treat Boxes

The Hộp Mứt Tết sweet treat box was created to celebrate the cherished tradition of sharing and enjoying candied fruits
and snacks during Tet, Vietnam’s Lunar New Year. These treats symbolize sweetness and prosperity for the year ahead and
are an integral part of welcoming guests during the holiday. Inspired by the vibrant colors and festive spirit of Tet, the
sweet treat box features a thoughtful selection of traditional delights presented in elegant packaging that reflects the joy
and warmth of the season. This special collection aims to bring families and friends together, fostering moments of
connection and celebration around these timeless treats.

Bao Lì Xì - Red Envelopes

On the first day of Tet, families gather at home, and children dress in new clothes to receive red envelopes containing small amounts
of money, symbolizing good luck and blessings. This cherished tradition, known as "Mừng tuổi mới" in the North and "Lì xì" in the
South, begins with children offering heartfelt Tet greetings to their elders, an essential and timeless aspect of the holiday.

This lucky money envelope set was created to honor this beautiful custom. Drawing inspiration from traditional Vietnamese attire of
2024, the collection blends abstract elements with a bright and cheerful color palette. Each design is crafted to evoke joy and
anticipation for the new year, celebrating the spirit of renewal and connection that Tet brings.

Bài Tu - Tu Card Deck

The playing cards in this collection are a nod to the cherished Vietnamese tradition of
gathering with family and friends to play card games during Tet, the Lunar New Year. It’s a
time when laughter and camaraderie fill the air, as people engage in games like Tiến Lên, Xì
Dách, and other favorites. These games are often played in mấy tụ, or groups, depending on
the number of players, with smaller tụ for intimate games and larger tụ for lively gatherings.
Playing cards during Tet is more than just entertainment—it’s a way to strengthen bonds,
share joy, and welcome good fortune for the new year. The designs on this special deck
incorporate Tet-inspired motifs, blending tradition with a modern twist, making them both a
functional and symbolic piece of the celebration.

Each month features unique designs inspired by traditional
Vietnamese motifs, animals, flowers, and cultural elements
